Multiple Input Multiple Output
MIMO is an antenna technology which involves usage of multiple antennas at the transmitter and receiver end to maximize the performance of the network and reduce transmission errors. Most low end routers use SU-MIMO i.e Single User MIMO where a router can transmit to only one device at a time irrespective of the number of clients it has.
MU-MIMO or Multi User MIMO is the new technology which allows the router to send multiple frames to multiple clients at the same time over the same frequency. This allows the router to achieve greater transmission rate compared to SU-MIMO based routers.
All high performance routers support the MU-MIMO technology.Tags: mimo, mu mimo, su mimo
